Marriage Vow Limericks

by Bob Peterson

My love, I stand here to say,
I promise you I'll never stray.
And should my eyes
Glance where it's unwise,
You can take my glasses away.

I'm yours for eternity,
Or as long as forever may be.
So I pray you'll not tire
Of the work I require.
For there's no getting rid of me.

To meet your needs I will try,
Though my selfishness I can't deny.
Have patience I pray,
I'll grow up someday,
And think more of "We" than just "I".

My love for you I will show.
My commitment you'll always know.
In sickness or health,
Poverty or wealth,
Though the poverty I'd rather forgo.

Give you my heart, I do.
And promise I'll always stay true.
Like gum on your shoe,
Or a really strong glue,
I'll always be stuck tight on you.
