" Long Ago And Far Away"

by Donald Xander © 2019

Long Ago And Far Away,
A Miracle Occurred Today.
From Nazareth To Bethlehem,
To A Stable Came, The Son Of Man.
Born To Mary On this Day,
And Joseph Who Had Led The Way.
By Immaculate Conception,
That They Embraced, Without Exception.

The Many Miles That They Endured,
The Help Of God Kept Them Secured.
Both On Foot, And On Beast,
They Did Not Falter In The Least.
And Came To End At An Inn,
But Found No Room To Go Within.
So In A Stable It Began,
Fruition Of The Great "I Am".

Long Ago And Far Away,
The Son Of God Was Born Today.
They Came To See Him Where He Lay,
In A Cradle Filled With Hay.
They Came From Near And Came From Far,
Guided By The Brightest Star.
Shepherds Came That Tended Flock.
And Wise Men Came With Gifts They Brought.

Animals It Seems Were Willed,
Their Presence There, The Stable Filled.
All Eyes Transfixed On One Within,
Born To Save Us All From Sin.
And A Boy Who Played The Drum,
To Announce That He Had Come.
It Soothed The Babe To Hear Him Play,
His Story Is Still Told Today.

Long Ago And Far Away,
Is Why We're Gathered Here Today.
To Honor Him And Everyone,
God The Father, God The Son.
The Spirit Of The Holy Ghost,
In Body , Blood, And In The Host.
As We Go Forth This Christmas Day,
Pray We Remember Everyday.
