Jesus is the Vine

Lord Jesus is the Vine,
We are the branches.
If we abide in Jesus,
Then He abides in us.

Jesus chose us, not
The other way around;
And His desire for us is
That fruit may abound.

To abide in the Lord
Means His saying to do:
"Love one another" -
"As I have loved you."

If we keep Jesus' Word
We'll abide in His love;
Then our joy will be full,
It'll be plenty enough.

Our prayers will be heard,
This is as sure as can be;
But not obeying Jesus
Will bring us only misery!

On our own, Jesus said,
We can do nothing at all;
We will be fruitless -
If we don't heed His call.

If we abide in the Vine
At all times, we're good;
Then we'll be branches
That produce lots of fruit!
