Life in Him

Life is new today
This time and moment
Old things have passed away
The new is the present.

He makes all things new
Jesus our Shepherd King
Hope, faith reborn like the dew
The broken hearted sing.

Jesus, Life Giver
Life abundant and free
Jesus, Burden bearer
Living Word, eternity.

Meeting with us in the mundane
No prayer too small
His loving acceptance
Answering us when we call.

Meeting us in the strangeness
Gusts of howling winds
His reassuring nearness
Peace, His presence brings.

He invites us to cast our cares on Him
To take Him at His word
The load He gives is freeing
His yoke is no heavy chore.

Dear Jesus, let this be my life's song
My heart's sweet melody
That in You we truly belong
Our lives lived only with Thee.
