Someday

by Norman Wagoner © 2025

Someday I'll see the streets of gold,
The gates of pearl so I've been told.
Someday the tears will disappear.
No pain or sorrow will we hear.

Someday no sin will tempt me there.
Our hearts will fill with love and care.
We'll hug the necks gone on before,
Now hid behind death's cold dark door.

We'll sing with voices pure and clear.
There'll be no pride; there'll be no fear.
We'll praise the Lord forever more.
Someday I'll make it home.

The days of struggle seem so long,
Yet days of victory quickly gone.
The cross is ever there to bear,
Each day to shoulder tight with care.

With Christ as Lord the victory's won.
The final verse has done been sung.
There's strength to stay, and strength the stand,
If your heart rests in Jesus's hand.

Somedays I'm weary, weak and worn,
But filled with promise God has sworn.
To leave me not ever alone.
Someday I'll make it home.
