Vessels Unto Honour

by John Janzen © 2021

A vessel in the Master's hand
Despite my many flaws
Made pliable to His command
A tool for fruitful cause

The job He calls me to engage
May lead through strain and strife
He states His efforts paid my wage
My work is thanks for life

A useful tool for any task
Is one that's versatile
For instance, one that doesn't ask
Will I find this worthwhile?

The Lord himself has shown the way
By His example set
In faithful service He each day
His obligations met

A vessel unto honour he
Who puts his hand to plow
He serves the Master joyfully
Despite the sweat on brow
