The dark grip of winter is over,
Releasing what appears to be dead,
Allowing it to spring to life,
Where decaying leaves were once shed.
Its tender shoots awaken,
They reach up toward the sun,
Tiny buds began to form,
Announcing new life to come.
This new life emerges,
Shaded in the color of green,
And from what was once withered,
Hope is now seen.
Sprouting and growing,
A miracle unfolds,
Life again flourishes,
A beauty to behold.
Its roots planted deeply,
Its nourishment is found,
Taking in living water
Causing this new life to abound.
A tree stands as a reminder,
Through creation, we can hear God speak,
Telling us not to give up
When life looks so bleak.
Raised to new life,
Our arms extend in praise,
As we enter into a new season,
We thank God for a new day.
