Ode to the Chosen Few

by Annie B © 2024

To you, who once were lowly, lost in the shadow's hue;
To you, who walked the path of resistance, unsure and untrue;
Where darkness whispered its lies and doubt held you as its own;
Now, you're crowned with a testament of grace, fully known.

In the vastness of creation, the Divine Hand made a choice;
In the city's height of harshness, the desert's starkest voice;
A remnant from the many to be the vessel of His truth;
You emerged as living proof of a love that had been pursued.

With power of Your own, You shine like a star at dawn,
From every tribe and nation, to fix Earth's distant wrongs.
A beacon in the night, a promise of a new day's birth;
You have gathered around the cross, God's sign of Heaven's worth.

Sanctified in Christ, the wisdom of the ages we now claim;
In Him, you are now given a brand new name.
Your hearts are aflame with faith, no longer held in vain;
In God's own image, you bear the light of an eternal flame.

Your lives, a testament to the One who knew you first;
Through every trial and tempest, your spirit will never thirst.
Before the dawn of time, you were once conceived;
For in the Son of God, your souls have been relieved.

Oh, the chosen few, in Christ your worth is clear to see;
With every breath, you will draw it is Grace's symphony.
Redeemed from emptiness, your purpose is interwoven;
In union with the One who calls you blessed, wholly heaven-driven.

Now, let your light shine forth, in every place you'll be;
A reflection of the love that has set you forever free.
The world may stumble 'round in darkness, blinded by its greed,
Yet you will be the city on the hill, a beacon for all to heed.

Your lives are a living epistle, a declaration of God's might;
A tapestry of mercy, woven in the darkest night.
To you who once were lost, now found in endless light,
I sing this ode of praise, for you are His delight
