BROKENNESS

What does the word brokenness really mean?
Does it mean I am broken like a vending machine?
Or does it mean something internal like a feeling?
Which could mean I may be in need of healing.

I believe an internal feeling usually applies,
When I am living in some form of disguise.
When I am feeling so down and blue,
I know who to call on to get me through.

My Lord can always help my well-being,
When it's something I 'm just not seeing.
God can show me why I'm feeling this way,
When I ask Him and kneel down to pray.

He can heal my broken spirit,
He can take my mind and clear it.
He helps me think good thoughts each day,
More uplifting thoughts, when I pray.

Lord, this is what I know You can do,
You help to make my life feel new.
You take this brokenness from my life,
Which always gave me pain and strife.

Now You've given me a sense of peace,
And all those feelings I now can release.
I now feel like I am made whole,
And that is my eternal goal!
