Save my place in heaven, friend
For I know that's where you'll be
God welcomed you home today
So you'll save that seat for me

Next to you, as we always were
Planning a fun filled day
We'll have our lunch with angels
As we laugh, reflect, and pray

God in his infinite wisdom
Knew you had a humble heart
And your star would shine the brightest
To guide me in the dark

Save me that place in heaven, friend
For someday I'll be there too
When the salmon run, and the music plays
I'll be seated next to you

Til' then, my brother, and dearest friend
You'll be ever close to my heart
I'll think of you each evening
When I see the brightest star
