The Heavenly Lights

enhanced by twinkling stars
bedazzle those with awestruck eyes
who view them from afar.
Each star performs a rhythmic dance
throughout the moonlit sky.
They flicker—glitter—twinkle—shine
for every watchful eye.
And as they seem to move about
the moon reflects the sun.
It shines a light throughout dark skies
for each and every one.
The splendor of these lights above
are witnessed with delight
by those who look up to the skies
to view these lights at night.
And as the nighttime passes by
the sun begins to rise.
It shines its rays upon the earth
and wakens sleepy eyes.
It offers warmth to all on earth
and light for all to see—
a blessing from the LORD above—
a gift for you and me.
