Casting is not a tiny pass
just moving worry to the side,
For it's a transfer of the mass
to the One, who for me has died.
Casting is not a feeble task
it needs for all pride to be denied,
To allow love to me unmask
surrendering all that I have tried.
Casting is not a simple thing
not something achieved without my thought,
More a resolve to Jesus cling
allowing grace to be fully caught.
Casting is not for the faint hearted
courage needed to let pain go,
From my walls I now am parted
so, His strength becomes what I know.
Casting is a powerful choice
radical embracing of His care,
A rejection of Satan's voice
instead bringing all to God in prayer.
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for You...
Prayer: Lord help me to be committed to casting whole-heartily into your care all my concerns and circumstances. Forgive me when I just put them to the side so I can easily pick them back up again. Help me to radically place them out of reach of my worry - in Your hands. Instead, may I rest in You; safe in the refuge of Your grace and love. Help me to lose the need of control and find instead the beauty of surrender. Amen
