O, when I wait upon the Lord
I seek a quiet place
so I may hear Him whispering
with tenderness and grace.
And as I listen for my God
I render all control.
It's then I hear His mighty voice
that captivates my soul.
He makes His presence known to me
although He can't be seen.
I know the Lord is by my side—
my world becomes serene.
He lifts my soul and as I soar
throughout beatific skies
God gives me strength so I won't faint—
I'm then revitalized.
And as I sour with eagle wings
my spirit is set free,
it's then I see a diff'rent world
through eyes God's given me.
I see a world— a paradise
where humankind's not trod—
a place where I am sanctified
by love, and grace of God.
