Resting in the Shadow of the Lord

I pray you rest in the shadow
of the mighty Lord above,
where you are sheltered from evil
and embraced by wings of love.

A refuge of strength and power
where no harm will come your way,
a place you'll be safe from the fowler
and arrows that fly by day.

So . . .

When making the Lord your dwelling
no harm will come near you,
for God will command His angels
to guide, and protect you, too.

And now . . .

I thank the Lord for His angels
who lift you up in their hands
and keep you from striking your foot
on stones set to misguide man.
