My Jesus, My Friend

I have a true friend,
He loves me like no other.
He always stands beside me,
He's closer than a brother.

He accepts me and He loves me,
In spite of my past,
He is always loyal,
His love is steadfast.

I trust Him completely,
I know His words are true.
And no matter what happens in my life,
He will help me through.

I tell Him about everything,
There is nothing I want to hide,
He is always ready to listen,
He wants me to confide.

He's always there to comfort me,
Through the trials that I face,
And when I stood condemned,
He willingly took my place.

They say blood is thicker than water,
And I believe this is true, you see.
Because Jesus laid down His life,
He bled and died for me.

With His blood, He paid my debt,
No greater love I've known.
He adopted me into His family,
He calls me His very own.

He defeated death
My Savior is alive today.
He is my guide,
He is THE WAY.

So I have a friend in Jesus,
He is who I adore,
And with Him in my life,
I do not want for more.
