The life of faith is foolishness
To worldly eyes and natural thought
Where men are lost in selfishness
Materialistic ways have sought.
We know the 'foolishness' of God
is wiser than the mind of man
God's 'weakness' is misunderstood
And stronger than how humans plan.
For Abraham, to worldly eyes
was great, but 'foolishly' was called
To leave by faith and seek the prize
A City in another world
In faith, his footsteps were not planned
But led by God throughout the earth
The guidance of a heavenly Hand
To find a Land of chosen worth.
This way of 'foolishness' we know
So different from the ways of men
For faith will, by the Spirit show
His greater Ways, both now, as then
Though man will to disaster lead
God's Path will follow to His Heart
Led by the Hands that once would bleed
His Way is ours right from the start.
