"If I Could Speak of Christmas Today"
(By Jesus)
I see the lights, the joy, the cheer,
The songs that fill this time of year.
Yet in the midst of all that's bright,
I wonder, child, do you see My light?
You deck the halls, the trees stand tall,
But do you hear My quiet call?
The gifts you give, the feasts you share,
Do they remind you I am there?
For long ago, in manger bare,
No wealth, no comfort met Me there.
I came for love, for hearts in need,
To break your chains, to set you free.
But now I see the bustling streets,
Where hearts forget what Christmas meets.
Not gold or tinsel, not grand display,
But love that gave itself away.
I do not seek the finest things,
But hearts where truth and kindness sing.
A moment shared, a prayer sincere,
A hand held tight, a presence near.
So celebrate, but don't forget,
The price of love, My story's debt.
For Christmas shines, not in display,
But in the love you live each day.
