Ode to Our Union in Christ

by Annie B © 2024

The blessed union is divine in essence,
where flesh meets spirit in a dance of grace -
A bond so sacred, in the heart of heaven,
where once the law had us in its embrace.

We were once mere shadows of creation's light,
bearing the burden of our fractured souls.
In bondage to the tempters of the night
are in the whispers of the Holy Scroll.

Only Jesus Christ is the bridegroom of our souls.
He came to us as the Light in darkest hours.
With a tender touch, He made us forever whole.
Now, our union with Him is our highest power.

In His embrace, we find our true identity.
The chains of sin are now shattered on the ground.
He's set us free from lives of vanity.
In His love, we've found liberty profound.

Like a seed that's sown in the richest earth,
our hearts now grow in faith and peace.
With every breath, we're given rebirth.
In Him we live, in Him we're released.

The law was once harsh and cold as a stone;
Now, pulses warm with life through our veins.
A living truth - not words alone -
made this union so we're now freed from chains.

Our spirits groan within our mortal frame,
As we wait for the final day of rest,
When we're released from every demon's claim;
Forever, we'll be in His presence "blessed".

In this union, we now find strength to face
all of the tempests that our lives may bring.
With Him as our anchor in this sacred space,
we will conquer fear, we can conquer everything.

Our union, a testament to love's divine reign
where the old has passed, we now behold the new.
In Him, we live and our sins are slain.
In Him, we shall find our life anew.

May we forever cherish this heavenly bond,
And in His grace, may we forever stand.
With every heartbeat, every dusk and dawn,
We sing praises to the Lord in every land.

For in this union, we're no longer lost;
But, now we're found in God's eternal hold.
Where sin and death are no longer our cost;
While life in Christ will forever unfold.

Let us rejoice, let us lift our voices;
For, in this union, we will find our song.
In every moment, let us rejoice,
In the beauty of belonging to him who's strong.
