We all have something that we want
But don't know how to get.
And striving hard to reach our goal
May not fulfill us yet.
Great wealth seems like a worthy goal
But once it is achieved,
It never seems to be enough,
Like we had first believed.
Perhaps if we were powerful
Control might satisfy.
But once again it's not enough
Which makes us wonder why.
Would status help to fulfill us?
Could fame become our friend?
Or would it never be enough,
Frustrating us again?
Some pleasures seem to satisfy,
To some degree it's true.
But we can't grow when pleasure thrives.
We need a deeper view.
Who are the happiest and why
Are they so satisfied?
Could focusing beyond themselves
Produce their joy inside?
God gives to all of us his love
To each without reserve.
His love is what we all should want,
To share it and to serve.
