Abiding in Christ

Like branches of the vine.
As we abide in Jesus Christ,
His life through us will shine.
Abiding means that we remain
Close to our Lord above.
Aware of how he lives in us
And offers us his love.
Abiding means to trust in God
When challenges do show,
And face adversity with calm,
God's children all can know.
Abiding means our faith persists
With solid hope that he
Is all that he has claimed to be
Throughout eternity.
Abiding means that we can wait
With expectation he
Will come again to reign in peace
The way things ought to be.
Remaining close to Jesus through
Relationship of prayer,
Is how we constantly abide,
Because we know he's there.
