Perky the Parrot

In the other part of the house, the old man tried to forget there ever was a parrot. He had his meals, and he went shopping, and he watched TV, and he went to bed. But as he lay in bed that night, he heard the parrot's voice, faint and weak through the walls, "God loves you! God loves you!"
