This one was a deliberate hoax. A scientist used orangutan and human bones, plus some staining and filing.

Javaman
(Pithecanthropus)
A skull cap and a leg bone were found about 15m apart. The cap is a gibbon's or ape's, the leg bone is a human.

Nebraska Man
(Hesperopithecus)
From a single tooth, this 'missing link' was constructed, but later considered to be from a wild pig.

(Neanderthalensis)
Once thought to be a 'missing link', now considered to be fully human.
