Imagine That: Bruised hero

"But I feel like spewing."

"You were perfectly all right five minutes ago."

"Faker! Faker!"

Jeff stood with his team, still clutching his stomach and pulling faces. It was a pathetic bit of acting.

"On this bush walk," said Miss Trollop, "We are going to earn points. Stop playing with the poker. The situation at the moment is, as you can see from the points chart. Mr Gamper, could you hold it up a bit higher? Streakers have 90 points, Zombies have 86 pouits, and trailing behind are the Heroes, with 70 points."

"It's not fair! They've got more kids in their teams!" said Tamara.

"Well you Heroes better try harder." said Miss Trollop.

"And they've got bigger kids."

"There's more than one way to earn points," said Miss Trollop, "Anyway, I don't want an argument about it. Just do you best and see how you get on. Now, for earning points today, we have nature study. As you walk, I want you to collect specimens of as many different types of plant as you can find. Just tiny specimens, mind. Not whole branches. And don't go off the track to get them. We must respect me native bush. Just one little leaf will be fine."

"Does willow count?"

"No, willow isn't a native."

"Sycamore?"

"No."

"What about grass?"

"No, that's introduced too."

"Briar?"

"No. You'd be best not to pick anything until we're actually in the bush."

"Pine trees?"

"No, pine trees are out."

"Can we go now?"
