Wording of this Handout:

If a thorn tree could talk, it might say this: "We'll do NOT like it when animals come along and eat my leaves! I don't have many leaves, so I need all I can get. That's why I grow thorns, to stop those hungry animals from eating me!"
In Africa there is a kind of thorn tree which is also home to ants.
The ants make their home inside round things, called galls, which the thorn tree grows in amongst its thorns.
The ants also attack animals when they try to eat the thorn tree.
So the ants need the thorn tree because it provides ball-shaped homes, and the thorn tree needs the ants because they attack animals that try to eat it.
God has designed many examples of co-operation in the world of Nature. It is not like some people say - just fighting and killing and survival of the fittest.
