Wording of this Handout:
The three prisoners.
Once upon a time there was a Kind who decided, as an act of kindness, to let one of his prisoners go, so he sent a servant to the dungeon of find a prisoner who was worthy of release.
The servant went to the dungeon and found three prisoners there, so he took them apart one by one and asked them toe same question: what would you do if you were set free?"
The first prisoner said "I'd kill the judge!" The second prisoner said "I'd do the same things but this time I wouldn't get caught!" The third prisoner said "I'd mend my ways. I was guilty and should have been punished, so I deserve to be here, but if I got out I'd make amends!"
You can guess, of course, which prisoner was set free. He had the right attitude. Its the same when God forgives a sinner. He gives people another chance to set things rights - and if they have the right attitude, they will.
Ok ok - I'm sorry i spoiled your game of knucklebones!
The Bible says: "For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive: and plenteous in mercy to all them that call upon you." Psalm 86:5 (King James version)
