Over The Top: The Suck

keep everything the same, just in case. I kept an eye on my watch too. Any minute now Bog and his mates would turn up.

4. 15 spot on exactly on time Bog came towards us.

"Get out of there, you creeps!"

That's how Bog always talks. He thinks he owns everything.

We stayed in the water and watched him. Bog was bigger than us, and stronger. He learned martial arts so no-one messes with him. He's broken other kid's legs. Oh sorry, you already know all this.

Bog threw our towels into the water. Yes, there they went, plop, plop, plop. Exactly where they landed last time. Then his mates started to throw stones at us.

"Leave us alone!" said Mitch.

"Make me!" said Bog.

A big stone landed near Mitch. He looked scared.

"Can't you guys share anything?'' I asked. I was strangely bolder this time, like I really didn't care what they did.

"Not with you worms!" said Bog.

We started to come out of the water. Bog grabbed Fly by the arm and twisted it behind his back. Fly called out in pain. I wished that bit didn't have to happen.

"This is our waterhole from now on," said Bog, "No scum like you allowed near it!"

That's when I did the same stupid thing. I tried to help Fly by pulling at Bog's arm. He wrapped his other arm round my neck and choked me. Now it was me that was calling for help. Mitch and Fly couldn't do a thing, again. Bog punched me in the ribs, again. It felt like he'd broken the same three, again.

"Time to get rid of some garbage" Bog said. He dragged me down the stream and stopped beside the Suck.

"No!" I said. I hoped my cry didn't sound like I'd been rehearsing. I was thinking I ought to get an award for my acting.

"Shut up!" said Bog.

He threw me into the water and stood on the side of the stream, watching me. He didn't care if I drowned. That's the bit that really annoyed me. He had no idea how
