The Poet
Many people enjoy reading and writing poetry. But who is the poet, how does his mind work, and what purpose does he serve? Let's dive in and explore these great questions!

Third Man on a Cross
This poem elaborates on a brief conversation recorded in Luke's gospel where our Lord speaks with a man we know little about. This man certainly did not understand the mystery unfolding. Or maybe he understood more than we think.

Handprints
My son, Joshua, died on January 7, 2020 when he was just 14 years old. The Children’s Hospital where he was did an imprint of his hand which now hangs on my wall. The idea of this poem came from looking at my son’s handprint everyday.

The Symphony of Sadness finalist in poetry contest
This is a sonnet I wrote during a time of much grief. It likens the soundtrack of mourning to a beautiful symphony and demonstrates there is much we can learn in grief which we would not be able to under happier conditions. See Ecclesiastes 1:18.

A Covenant with Mine Eyes
James 1:12: "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him."

Uncertain Riches
This poem is addressed to those who trust in uncertain riches (1 Timothy 6:17) rather than God.

Semper Idem
I wrote this poem in a time of great sorrow. It gave me much comfort to know that, although grief and change are inescapable, I may always find consolation in the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

A Christian's Epitaph
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

The Lord Is Gracious
1 Peter 2:3 reads, "If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious." By God's grace, I have tasted that the Lord is gracious, and wrote this poem to reiterate "That, in the course of justice, none of us Should see salvation" (The Merchant of Venice).
