Unborn first in poetry contest
I was asked to write the thoughts of an unborn fetus whose mother is thinking of aborting. Again not a poem I wish to write, but as a Christian, I must speak for the "Unborn.

Never Enough Hugs
I met a medical microbiologist turned wood carver. She worked in Dana Farber Cancer Institute. As she signed a carving for me she said, "When you work in a cancer ward there is never enough hugs." Her gift and her heart are carved from God.

Innocence
A counselor asked me to write a poem about abuse of children. It was not something I would choose or even want to write about. I thought no to this request, but God thought yes.

Our Pastor's son had an excruciating leg lengthening surgery. After the surgeon breaks the leg bones, growth occurs. This young man told his Dad, "Pain is a gift." There is hope, as we are all so broken, but growth grows in broken places.
