God Loves Me

This is not a theory, speculation,
Or idle surmise;
Though I've known it all my life, it's still
An awesome surprise.
God protects me,
This I most sincerely believe
With all my heart;
He helps me to avoid the pitfalls,
He has right from the start.
God guides me
With perfect light and wisdom,
And a gentle hand;
Keeping me on a steady course
To the promised land.
