Firm yet Gentle

by Ted Bates © 2022

Please deal firmly with me, Lord,
So I dare not go astray;
Yet, lead me gently and adored
As You reveal the narrow way.

Put me behind a shield of glass,
Protecting me when I need be.
Still, lead me to a field of grass
And let me rejoice there safely

Lord show me the ways which are right
On the routes You take me by,
So that even You may in me delight
In my willful following tie.
