The spring was laughing, bubbling, reflecting light
Rainbows of God's hues, trickling and singing
Water tumbling, disorderly and bright
Dancing a quick-step of joyfulness bringing.
There is a river, proceeding from the spring
Pouring from God's own heart and satisfying
The desert dry but soon His rains would bring
Green luscious shoots, new life identifying.
'If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink
Believe in me, and see the living water
Flowing from within' more than we can think
For soon the Spirit's seeds of Grace would scatter.
This pure eternal flow, sparkling and free
Immersing all who enter in, delighting
The heart of God, the heart of man to see
This perfect gift of God and man uniting.
God' holy river, purity, and praise
Crystal waters in God's heart is filling
Our hearts too, and setting them ablaze
With passionate love, His Living Waters thrilling.
