Don't Blame God

by Margaret Cagle

Do you resent the alarm clock
Because it wakes you up?
Do you get angry with coffee
Because it stains your cup?

Sometimes we adopt this mindset
As silly as it might be.
We always need to blame something
When we are unhappy, you see.

Sometimes we try to blame others
For all our troubles and woes.
Sometimes we blame our friends,
And we treat them like our foes.

Some people even blame God
When adversity calls upon them.
They think that God caused it,
So then they choose to blame Him.

If we suffer some sore misfortune,
Let us call on God in prayer.
He is a very compassionate God,
And your burden, He will bear.
