What seemed to me like a loss,
God has used as recipe for a win —
A good door slammed in my face,
For the right one to let me in.
Folks I turned to let me down,
For the Lord Himself to lift me high.
A delay I'd thought was way too long,
The runway that helped me fly.
Had my ego bruised and clipped,
But it was God pruning the vine.
A dark and dreary time I so dreaded,
Was the one that made me shine.
The trip that took unwanted turn,
Offered some profound sights to see —
I know enough to trust the Lord,
Will work out what's best for me.
