Fingers Of Hope

by Kathleen Higham

Lord I pray with all my heart
Let my fingers do the walking
I feel so humbled in my bed
As I hear You quietly talking

Nothing could have prepared me
For these painful stressful days
Thank you for Your mercy Lord
In my heart Your Word stays

My prayerful time is now endless
As these daily struggles ensue
And the smallest little movement
Is a triumph coming from You

But night time brings exhaustion
And the tears may fill my eyes
As my patience may be wearing thin
And You hear my heavy sighs

But You are right here with me
Each breath I take is Yours
Your Holy Spirit fills my soul
Carries me through life's horrors

Lord I cry out to You this day
If my life is filled with strife
I pray that You would lift her up
Give strength and peace to my wife

I can see the pain she wears
As she turns away to cry
My heart aches with love for her
She has suffered more than I

But You have made us one Lord
And a vision of hope fills my mind
That someday we will run to You
Fingers forever and completely entwined
