Pray

by Kathleen Higham

Each morning as I begin to pray
Many words flow through my mind
And I ask God to rearrange them
Bringing a message of some kind

I never know what He'll give me
But it seems He has prepared
Words written on this paper
He wants them to be shared

As always I am searching
For the answer of the day
But the question remains hidden
So I have nothing nothing to say

I have not yet prayed to Him
My thoughts are in disarray
There is just nothing in me
No comfort feeling this way

And yet there is a presence
That guides me to His Word
Not once has He ever failed me
But it's not a voice I've heard

It's the teaching of His Gospel
Notes scattered in every direction
A life line leading straight to Him
A tangible and spiritual connection

An audible voice no not yet
But bold in black and white
Words from God pouring out
Showing me power and might

Again earthquakes rock a country
Is it possible they're unaware
Ignoring catastrophic warning signs
I pray they wouldn't dare

For we are living in those times
And God has painted a picture
Telling us He is surely coming
It is all there in His scripture

No one knows exactly when
But He has promised this day
And Jesus Christ will come for us
As the world falls down to pray

The Son of Man is coming soon
The heavenly bodies will be shaken
And everything we've ever done
Will mean nothing if we're not taken

The answer to the ultimate question
To God confess conform then pray
Make ready to meet the Lord your God
He might come for us all today
