Peaceful Rain

Tiny drops barely perceptible
As I hear that familiar sound
Then pounding on my rooftop
A peaceful moment I've found

It's not just the sound of it
But how lovely to see it too
Then a feeling of cleansing
For a body needing to renew

Everything looks so refreshed
A crispness that's vividly green
I take a deep breath believing
That God has washed us clean

For often we need reminded
That even though we are saved
There are dirty dusty roads ahead
Not always perfectly paved

But every time we study His Word
A life that was stale and bored
Will feel like rain drops falling
As your love for Him is restored

For all that falls from the heavens
Is a gift from that Holy place
And my tears mingle with the rain
When to Him I lift my face

I love the soothing lulling sound
And the feeling of its touch
Breathing in the sweetest smell
And He loves us oh so much

Tiny drops barely perceptible
Then hail announces He's here
Rain rain peaceful rain
Washing away all of our fear
