Misery Loves Company

But help is on the way
God will surely carry you
As He waits for you to pray
For it is just a simple truth
When we are suffering in fear
No one wants to be alone
So prayer draws others near
And misery loves company
We eagerly share our grief
Knowing those around us
Bring peace and some relief
But only God can save us
Calling us by two or more
Come come and pray to Me
I stand here at your door
So we gather together in hope
Speaking to Him in one voice
Knowing He hears each separately
Then in Him our souls rejoice
Yes misery loves company
But it will take its leave
Where two or more are gathered
Then to God we'll cleave
Remember the company we keep
Are Christians oh so dear
Holding hands in heartfelt prayer
And the misery will disappear
