Surprise

by Kathleen Higham

Oh what a surprise to me
That you would be my Mother
God has truly blessed me
For I desire no other

Please don't worry about me
As I feel content in you
Growing inside your body
Is what I'm supposed to do

Soon I'll come to meet you
And I'll probably cry a bit
But you might shed a tear or two
Then in the rocking chair we'll sit

For God has made plans for us
Why else would I be here
And He is going to use you
So please do not fear

Already I am loving you
I hear your voice so sweet
As you gently rub your belly
I poke you with my feet

For it is such a peaceful life
As I grow in this little space
But I can hardly wait for you
The day when I see your face

Oh what a surprise to me
I can feel your tender sigh
Thinking about my presence
But only God knows why

And it is just so exciting
You wonder who I might be
God has touched my tiny heart
Just wait just wait and see
