My heart is filled with sadness
When I think of you, my friend
You had so much to live for
But now that's at an end
The Lord had taken all your weight
And set you on the rock

If only you had asked Him in
And let yourself be led
Put all your past into His hands
Doing what He said
Your headstrong ways have got you here
Tangled in this mess
When are you going to see the truth
Get on your knees, confess.

So as you sink into despair
Remember, there's a way
He's holding out His hand to you
Grab it now, today
Tell Him that you're sorry
Repent, and turn away
From the tide that's sweeping you
To darkness and decay.
