Programmed by life's circumstances
We're a mystery to behold
Who we are is what's been added
By experiences untold
Some were helpful, others crippling
Some we had to form ourselves
Holy Spirit wants to change us
Are we going to let Him delve?

We can certainly ignore Him
Let the devil rule our lives
Constant battle of emotions
Only leads to pain and strife
Is it really that important
Holding on to to all our past
Or shall we release our burdens
For a life that's going to last.
