SHADOWS

by mike bullock
https://ploosh61.wordpress.com

The shadows creep around me
The darkness held at bay
But for the strength of Jesus
I'd surely lose my way
The enemy is a whispering
Suggesting thoughts of black
I'm clinging by my fingertips
Not wanting to go back.

Jesus gave His life for me
A sacrificial loss
The chains are off, I've been set free
From my old former boss
He's done so much to change my life
The light shines so much more
I'm sticking with my special friend
Who lives in every pore.

So satan, stop your poking
You've lost another round
Jesus is my Saviour
The best I've ever found
My ever present champion
Will thwart your evil plan
So go and bother someone else
And leave me with The Man.
