I Have Called You

I have called and you have answered
I have called and you said "Here I am".
I have called you and you have listened.
You gave it all to the Lamb.

I have known your name from the beginning
When I ordered the first stars to shine.
I knew you would one day come to the cross
I always knew that you were mine.

You will have to sacrifice much for me.
But I will be there to see you through.
As you pass through rough waters
I, your Lord will be with you.

As the test of flames leap around you,
Do not tremble and be not alarmed
For this trial is sent to edify you
I am here, you will not be harmed.

For I am the Lord, Your God and Savior.
For you, I have laid down my life.
I will guide, protect, and comfort you.
I'll bring you through this strife.

Keep your eyes on the eternal goal at hand
My servant I have heard your pleas
Remember why I have placed you here
Strength grows when on your knees.

I will make a path through crashing waves
My water will extinguish the adverse flame
My servant I am right here beside you
For you, I have called by name.
