Silent No More

by Kathleen Higham

Can You hear my heart speak
Lord, the silence of my mind
Cries out to You each day
Expressing, I'm wholly thine

Can You lift the burden, please
For I am so fallen, weak
Crawling, crawling to You
Your peace, I need, I seek

Can You hear my heart speak
With a treachery so unkind
I cannot possibly survive
My wicked eyes are blind

Can You steal away my sin
Leading to Your path, straight
For nothing matters more
Despairing for my pitiful fate

Can You hear my heart speak
The sound lost to me today
Needing You so very much
Waiting, listening to hear You say

I can hear your heart speak
It is never silent to Me
I am with you always
Your silent heart I see

I can hear your heart speak
You are mine, mine, mine
I can hear your heart speak
Speaking My words, divine

You came to me on Christmas
I hear You, and I soar
Filled with the clamoring of Christ
This weary heart, silent no more.
