Fear

by Kathleen Higham

The bane of my existence
This word fear, defined
Faulty emotion and reaction
A dark anguish in my mind.

But fear is not of God
As He stands by our side
He prays mightily for us
Wipes the tears we cried.

The moment comes in time
If fear turns the future dim
The moment comes in peace
When at last we turn to Him.

Fear is surely not of God
It cannot invade your soul
God our Father prays for us
And He is in control.

For faulty human emotion
Allows fear to enter the mind
But God is Mighty! Mighty!
He sets all fear behind.

Our Father God is Mighty!
Though fear may rear her head
When God prays He triumphs
He is Mighty! Fear is dead.

Luke 22:31-32
"Satan has asked to sift you as wheat-But I have prayed for you Simon, that your faith may not fail"
