Tennis

by mike bullock

Like a game of tennis
I keep sending back Your ball
If only I would let You win
Then You would have my all
My shield is quite a barrier
Defences, very tight
So how long can I hold out
Till I finally see the light.

It's only me that's suffering
By doing my own thing
I can't release Your power
Till the same hymn we both sing
So may I let You keep my ball
As I concede defeat
Cause You are one opponent
Whom I certainly won't beat.
