Her love was so courageous
Will I ever be like her?
Cannot even imagine it
Not me, that's for sure.
There was no one like Mother
Protective, fierce, and true
Followed her like a puppy
Taught me everything I knew.
I learned from her deep losses
Her strength filled my mind
Will I ever be like her?
So gentle, honorable, and kind.
Her love was so courageous
Her voice echoes in my head
I still cry for Mother
Hearing the words she said.
Only once she swatted me
For my arrogance and pride
Looking into her eyes, so pained
Hurting her, I'd rather have died.
Yet, always so forgiving
Amazingly generous, was she
Will I ever be like her?
Oh, how I want to be.
Her love was so courageous
Trusting the Lord made her free
Will I ever be like her?
I will, if my God reigns in me.
