A Gentle Spirit

by Kathleen Higham

I see a gentle spirit
A possessed look in her eyes
Compact, sturdy, perfected
There will be no compromise.

I see a gentle spirit
With a most engaging smile
She will push you to the edge
Pull you back for a while.

I see a gentle spirit
Well mannered, but not meek
A Godly presence in her life
No time to ever be weak.

I see a gentle spirit
A young lady so intense
Pressing harder and harder
Her strength becomes immense.

I see a gentle spirit
To the limit, I follow her
Especially when I am weary
She encourages me to endure.

I see a gentle spirit
Sometimes I glimpse her soul
A tender sweetness follows, but
She will always attain the goal.

I see a gentle spirit
When she speaks of her God
Reveals to me, a faithfulness
She rides the path He trod.

I see a gentle spirit
My daughter, she could be
She is absolutely beautiful
And her spirit blesses me.
