There is solitude in confinement
Where one can commune with He
Seemingly alone, but not alone
Restrained but desiring to see.
There is solitude in confinement
As your only thought might be
That God is your true salvation
And only God can set you free.
For in this time of solitude
The spiritual soul will embrace
The heart of Jesus meets with you
Then protects you in this place.
There is a solitude in confinement
Your senses become acutely aware
And life as you once knew it
Changes, releases a godless despair.
There is a solitude in confinement
In this time the choice is made
Falling to your knees, surrendered
Understanding, a price must be paid.
For in this time of solitude
Where time is all that you own
Enlightenment comes in shocking joy
Recognizing you are not alone.
There is a solitude in confinement
Our God separated from His Son
Alone, in solitude, the Savior died
Then rose to make us one.
There is a solitude in confinement
But the sentence has been relieved
And your prison walls have perished
The moment you first believed.
