God created man in His own image.
He formed him from the dust of the ground.
He breathed the spirit of life into him,
And in man no sin could be found.
But man disobeyed his Holy Maker,
And rebelled from the very start.
His spirit died in that dark moment,
As sin and death entered his heart.
God desired man to live forever,
But man was hopelessly lost.
The debt of sin had to be erased,
Which came at a supreme cost.
Pure blood was the only eradicator
For mankind's tainted stains.
Jesus' death on the cross paid the price,
With His burial, resurrection and reign.
Jesus made the way for man to return
To his Creator whose hands formed him.
God's gift of salvation is for all who believe,
Confess their faith and repent of their sins.
What a gift! Man's spirit can become alive,
Eternal life is his to regain,
For upon the hearts of all mankind
God's fingerprints remain.
