Gaurdian Angel

There's a girl you know that cries tonight,
Locked in her closet alone with a knife.
Even when she doesn't cut, her heart's still bleeding;
Her voice sounds calm but her eyes are pleading.

She's looking for you to be her gaurdian angel,
To mend her broken heart from all the pain and betrayal.
When you reached for her hand, she gave you her heart,
But it was so fragile, it had already fallen apart.
She's looking for you to be her gaurdian angel.

It was hard, yet she made it through another fight;
But the bigger battle is to last through the night.
She's rewritten that same note so many times,
But you see she doesn't want to die if you read between lines.

She's looking for you to be her gaurdian angel,
To mend her broken heart from all the pain and betrayal.
When you reached for her hand, she gave you her heart,
But it was so fragile, it had already fallen apart.
She's looking for you to be her gaurdian angel.

She looks for answers from the God you speak of-
Kneeling down to raise her eyes to the heavens high above.
She holds on tight to each and every prayer,
Hoping that He hears her, hoping that He cares.

She's looking for you to be her gaurdian angel,
To mend her broken heart from all the pain and betrayal.
When you reached for her hand, she gave you her heart,
But it was so fragile, it had already fallen apart.
She's looking for you to be her gaurdian angel.

Faking smiles and making up dreams;
The longer that she lives, the worse it seems.
Every tear she cries leaves a stain on her heart.
She wishes for happy numbness on every shooting star.

She's looking for you to be her gaurdian angel,
To mend her broken heart from all the pain and betrayal.
When you reached for her hand, she gave you her heart,
But it was so fragile, it had already fallen apart.
She's looking for you to be her gaurdian angel.

When you smile, you help to her to stand,
Her gaurdian angel, shows her that she can-
Still want to smile, still dare to dream,
God and His love are never out of reach.

You turned out to be her gaurdian angel,
You mended her heart from all the pain and betrayal.
When you reached for her hand, she gave you her heart;
The one you pieced together after it fell apart.
You turned out to be her gaurdian angel.
